Scottie Scheffler's 2025 Masters Dinner the Cheapest of the Past Decade

Scottie Schefflerโ€™s 2025 Masters Champions Dinner menu is drawing attention โ€“ not for its flair, but for its frugality.

Scottie Scheffler might be the richest man in golf (or at least among the leaders), but when it comes to the annual Masters Dinner, the defending tournament champion is keeping things simple.

Scheffler's 2025 Masters menu is the cheapest per plate of any Champion's Dinner since 2015, coming in at an average of just $108 per plate. And while that might seem exorbitant for those of us who aren't into fine dining, it comes up well short of what other Masters champion menus have averaged over the past decade:

Key Takeaways

  • Japan's Hideki Matsuyama, the 2021 Masters winner, owns the distinction of having the most expensive Masters Champions Dinner in history from an average cost perspective, coming in at $220 per plate โ€“ nearly 20 percent higher than runner-up Jon Rahm of Spain (2024).
  • Non-Americans occupy three of the top five spots on the list of most expensive Masters Champions Dinners; Patrick Reed (who won in 2018) has the most expensive dinner menu among U.S. winners since 2015 with an average cost per plate of $170.
  • Scheffler's budget-friendly 2025 menu is priced 28 percent less per person than the 2023 food list he built following his Masters win the previous year.

Masters Champions Dinner menus, 2015-25

2015: Bubba Watson

Course Menu item(s)
Appetizer Traditional Caesar salad
Main Course Grilled chicken breast with green beans
Main Course Mashed potatoes
Main Course Corn
Main Course Mac & cheese
Main Course Cornbread
Dessert Confetti cake with vanilla ice cream
Soup N/A

Watson gave his dinner guests a taste of the region, with his Masters Champions Dinner menu courtesy Paula Deen's The Lady & Sons in Savannah, located 140 miles southeast of Augusta. Watson's meal came in at an average of $110 per person, the lowest of the previous decade prior to Scheffler's 2025 menu.

2016: Jordan Spieth

Course Menu item(s)
Appetizers Local greens salad
Appetizers Corn muffins
Main Course Texas barbecue (beef brisket)
Main Course Smoked half chicken
Main Course Pork ribs with BBQ baked beans
Main Course Potato salad
Main Course Grilled zucchini
Dessert Warm chocolate chip cookie with vanilla ice cream
Soup N/A

Seeing a Texan win the Masters has to make the following year's dinner guests feel pretty good. Spieth did this tradition right, bringing in the very best from Franklin Barbecue in Austin (highlighted by a carnivore's dream main course). Spieth's sleep-inducing meal came in at an average per-plate cost of $140.

2017: Danny Willett

Course Menu item(s)
Appetizers N/A
Main Course Sunday roast prime rib
Main Course Sunday roast roasted potatoes
Main Course Sunday roast vegetables
Main Course Sunday roast Yorkshire pudding
Dessert Apple crumble with vanilla custard
Dessert English cheese & biscuits
Soup N/A

In honor of the day of the week that provided the greatest moment of his career, it's only fitting that Willett opted for a Sunday roast special as his Masters Champions Dinner. With Rules Restaurant โ€“ the oldest dining establishment in London โ€“ providing the inspiration, Willett's uber-traditional English feast came in at a reasonable $110 per plate.

2018: Sergio Garcia

Course Menu item(s)
Appetizers International salad
Main Course Arroz caldoso de bogavante (Spanish lobster rice)
Dessert Tres leches cake with tres leches ice cream & espuma
Soup N/A

Garcia kept his Masters Champions Dinner menu right and tight โ€“ and I'm guessing that his guests didn't mind at all. Jaleo by Jose Andres in Washington, D.C., provided the three-course meal, featuring international salad, Spanish lobster rice in a simmering broth and a tres leches cake with ice cream. The cost of this Spanish decadence: $150 per person.

2019: Patrick Reed

Course Menu item(s)
Appetizers Caesar salad
Appetizers Wedge salad
Main Course Prime bone-in cowboy ribeye
Main Course Mountain trout
Main Course Mac & cheese
Main Course Creamed spinach
Main Course Corn crรจme brรปlรฉe
Main Course Steamed broccoli
Dessert Tiramisu
Dessert Vanilla bean crรจme brรปlรฉe
Dessert Chocolate crunch cheesecake
Soup N/A

While Garcia's menu was as condensed as it gets for a Masters Champions Dinner, no one offered more variety than Reed, whose menu featured multiple options for appetizers, main courses and desserts. Peter Luger Steak House in New York City provided the goods for this mammoth meal, which came in at a sturdy $170 per plate.

2020: Tiger Woods

Course Menu item(s)
Appetizers Shrimp tempura roll with spicy tuna
Appetizers Tempura flakes & eel sauce
Main Course Prime steak
Main Course Chicken fajitas
Dessert Churros with chocolate sauce
Dessert Flan
Dessert Sopapillas
Soup N/A

Jose Andres appears to know a thing or two about feeding golf's finest. Two years after heading up Garcia's landmark meal, Andres' Bazaar Meat in Las Vegas was called upon to provide for Woods, whose diverse menu surely appealed to a wide range of palates. And at $140 per plate, the price tag was quite reasonable as far as Masters meals go.

2021: Dustin Johnson

Course Menu item(s)
Appetizers Pigs in a blanket
Appetizers Lobster & corn fritters
Main Course Filet mignon
Main Course Miso-marinated sea bass with mashed potatoes & spring vegetables
Dessert Peach cobbler
Dessert Apple pie with vanilla ice cream
Soup N/A

Dustin Johnson is a simple man who also happens to be one of the greatest golfers on the planet. And his down-to-Earth nature is sublimely captured in his choice of Masters meal options, which offered some nice variety but were squarely rooted in American classics from Le Bernardin in NYC. The cost was slightly on the higher side at $160 per person.

2022: Hideki Matsuyama

Course Menu item(s)
Appetizers Sushi
Appetizers Sashimi
Appetizers Nigiri
Appetizers Yakitori chicken skewers
Main Course Miso-glazed black cod
Main Course Miyazaki Wagyu beef ribeye with mixed mushrooms & vegetables
Dessert Japanese strawberry shortcake
Soup N/A

If you're a fan of Japanese cuisine, it really doesn't get much better than this. Matsuyama no doubt won over his 2022 dinner guests with some of the most decadent choices Augusta National has ever seen, highlighted by that Wagyu beef ribeye. It's no wonder the Nobu-fueled meal came in at a jaw-dropping $220 per plate.

2023: Scottie Scheffler

Course Menu item(s)
Appetizers Cheeseburger sliders
Appetizers Firecracker shrimp
Main Course Texas ribeye steak
Main Course Blackened redfish
Dessert Chocolate chip skillet cookie
Soup Tortilla soup

We finally have soup! Okay, so that probably shouldn't be the focal point of Scheffler's first Masters Champions Dinner menu, but surely even you were wondering when a soup choice was going to show up. Scheffler did a great job of honoring his Texas roots, fashioning this $150-per-plate masterpiece with help from Pappas Bros. Steakhouse in Houston.

2024: Jon Rahm

Course Menu item(s)
Appetizers Spanish tapas (Iberian ham)
Appetizers Idiazabal cheese
Appetizers Spanish omelette
Appetizers Spicy Basque chorizo
Appetizers Lentil stew
Appetizers Chicken fritters
Main Course Basque ribeye with Tudela lettuce & piquillo peppers OR Turbot with white asparagus
Dessert Puff pastry cake with custard & chantilly cream
Salad Basque crab salad with potato

How could anyone not want to fill up on appetizers here? Rahm no doubt tested the self-control of every one of his dinner guests with a stunning array of pre-main options โ€“ then made the struggle worth it by serving Basque ribeye and turbot from Mercado Little Spain in NYC. This one was well worth the $180-per-person price tag.

2025: Scottie Scheffler

Course Menu item(s)
Appetizers Cheeseburger sliders
Appetizers Firecracker shrimp
Appetizers Papa Scheffโ€™s meatball and ravioli bites
First Course Texas-style chili
Main Course Wood-fired cowboy ribeye
Main Course Blackened redfish
Sides Mac & cheese
Sides Jalapeรฑo creamed corn
Sides Soy-glazed brussels sprouts
Sides Chipotle-lime roasted sweet potatoes
Dessert Warm chocolate chip skillet cookie with vanilla bean ice cream

Aside from two appetizers and the warm skillet cookie dessert, Scheffler's second Masters dinner menu scarcely resembles his first. And if we're being frank, I like this one better: meatball and ravioli bites sound fantastic, while the choice of cowboy ribeye or redfish (from Texas Steakhouse) provide grade-A choices for both meat and seafood lovers. The cost per plate: just $108.
